During stress, we naturally crave carbohydrates. The junkier the better. Stress creates cravings which are more about desire than appetite. We are programmed to eat high calorie fatty and sugary substances and under stress we are driven to seek them out. Our brain releases chemicals like dopamine and opiods that reinforce this craving till we satisfy it with something gooey or salty! Our mood will drive this as well, especially when it is negative!
We feel even crappier. What we need is the good ole fruits and vegetables. Add some dark chocolate and now you are talking.
